We need your help to make Tasmania's communities and natural environments happy, healthy and sustainable.
Sustainable Living Tasmania (SLT) is all about action, not of the radical kind, more of the practical, positive kind. Our not-for-profit has been powered by fabulous staff members, steadfast supporters and enthusiastic volunteers for almost 40 years.
We're powerful because we're people-powered.
We work at many levels to provide the Tasmanian community with the skills, information and support needed to live happy, healthy, sustainable lives.
At the grass roots level we work with individuals or groups. We provide impartial, expert advice about practical things like improving energy efficiency, installing insulation, building a comfortable low-bills home, gardening and conserving water.
At the community level we coordinate community projects, run events like the very popular Sustainable Living Expo and promote sustainable businesses. We also support community groups, facilitate partnerships and advocate at local, state and federal government levels to influence policy that supports the transition to resilient Tasmanian communities.
