Sustainable Living Tasmania
The Sustainable Living Expo is produced by Sustainable Living Tasmania (SLT), a not-for-profit community organisation.
SLT is a community resource and education centre, established in 1972 as the Tasmanian Environment Centre. We work to provide a direct, local, realistic and accessible contribution to the protection and restoration of the natural environment, and the development of homes and cities for a sustainable future.
We work alongside and empower Tasmanians to:
- improve the sustainability of our homes, communities and businesses and
- maintain and enhance our local natural environment.
We provide:
- A free sustainable living information service
- An extensive environmental resource collection for use by the community and schools
- Community environmental education materials and services
- Office and administrative support for groups engaged in environmental care work.
We organise:
- Tasmania's Sustainable Living Expo
- Seminars on sustainable living
- Practical workshops and tours to highlight urban sustainability issues including energy efficiency, water conservation, transport and backyard biodiversity.
