Brooke's Story           Â
Brooke is a mother with two young children.
She recently had the Power Savings for Tenants Program visit her home and help her "Stay Warm and Save Money".
When we visited Brooke at her place this is what she had to tell us about the program.
"It has helped out in such a big way. Just having a few little upgrades to our home has had a big improvement on my son's health, his asthma has been improving"
Am I eligible for the service?
This service is designed for low income renters. Â So you are probably eligible if you:Â
Property Owners Consent
To get the most out of the project we require the property owner (landlords) consent. Â For property owners the service is free and fully insured. Â To find out more of the consent requirements download a consent letter. Â
However, even without your landlord’s permission, there are lots of things you can do to save money on power bills.
What happens then?
Sustainable Living Tasmania (SLT) will contact you to discuss your application and if approved try and arrange an appointment to visit you. Â Once we have heard back from your landlord, two home energy helpers will visit you to complete the upgrades. Â A home energy helper is a SLT staff member who is trained to make homes warmer and help you save on power bills.Â
Follow up
SLT wants this project to help you. Â Therefore we will check your power bills to make sure the changes are working well. Â For the year after the project we will contact you every 3 months to see how your energy saving is going.
